The jury awards three types of prizes: special prizes, individual prizes and prizes for participation.
This was an extraordinary and very well-organized festival. We were glad to have been selected to participate in the middle school and high school sections to begin with. We rehearsed many times and had plenty of jitters, because it is not often that we have the chance to perform on a professional stage before a jury of such quality. Our surprise was even greater when we found out that we had obtained prizes in both sections. We wish to thank the team of organizers and to congratulate them again for encouraging, promoting and discovering new talents who might plan to become members of the acting profession. Eagerly looking forward to the next edition! Andrei Gheorghe, Group AS Coordinator, National College Gheorghe Lazar
We have been participating in the festival since its very first edition, and for a few years now, we have brought both “Dor fara Satiu” drama groups, the seniors and the juniors, on the stage of the MTIS Festival. It is a place where Beauty, Feeling and Drama are at home, and I think that both MTIS and us suffer from the same “disease”: a great love of theater! I wish us both that we never find the cure for this disease! Affectionately, Dora Lazăr, Group “Dor fără saţiu” Coordinator, Dimitrie Bolintineanu High School
Mark Twain Festival is one of the places where you can see live theatre, authentic theatre, ageless theatre, often leaving you at a loss for words to express the passion and commitment of the youngsters on stage. All of this happens in a well-structured manner, within a festival that, unlike most, is open to all age groups from pre-schoolers to teenagers and thus serves as an open invitation to the “main stage” and a joyful occasion for all of us, which every year helps us grow through dramatic performance. Many thanks to the jury, the participants and the organizers for hosting the festival, for receiving us with warmth and for offering us a unique experience! Corina Ciuca, Member of Group Catharsis, Gheorghe Sincai High School
Mark Twain Theatre Festival is a bright idea on the part of the organizers in the cultural landscape of the capital city, a small jewel in the education of our children, which has become so riddled with difficulties these days. If every school paid more attention to co-curricular activities the way MTIS does, children would become more tolerant and more committed to their future! Bravo MTIS! Bravo Daniela Minoiu! Hats off! Those who have not worked with children have no idea how much passion and commitment are needed in order to obtain positive results. With all the respect in the world for what you are doing, do keep it up! Stefan Iordache, Director of Children’s Group Andantino
The Mark Twain Festival provides the drama groups with whom I work the opportunity to perform the shows we rehearse over the course of an entire year in front of an audience and a jury. It is a well-organized festival whose very forte is organization, in my opinion. I also appreciate the open character of this festival in which any group that is well prepared can participate. Dorin Eugen Ionescu, Trupa fara Nume Coordinator, National College Iulia Hasdeu
As a participant in the Mark Twain Theatre Festival, The International School of Bucharest, represented by its primary school drama group Stars on Stage, expresses its delight with the organization and proceedings of the festival last year. This is why we have decided to participate again this year. The location was suitable for us and the conditions were quite satisfactory. The decision to audition the potential participants by screening the video tapes of their performances is very wise, since it allows the organizers to have a preview of the productions that are to be represented on the stage of the festival. We hope that the festival continues to grow and thus allows us, the participants, greater flexibility with respect to stage design and rehearsal on the stage of the festival itself, since both have an important impact on the final result. I admire you for the huge volume of work involved in preparing and hosting the festival; only now do I realize how big it really is. I imagine it is quite difficult to put in all this work, but also justly rewarding.
Raluca Damian, International School of Bucharest Group Coordinator
