The Kraft Confection Factory, Brasov

Due to the PYP unit "Healthy Is Happy", the first graders took a trip to Brasov. The main objective was the visit to the Kraft Confection Factory.
On the way there, we saw fairy-tale landscapes in the Prahova Valley, passing through Sinaia, Azuga, and Predeal. Once in Brasov, we stopped at the Confection Factory. First, we were invited into a room where our hosts served us lots of sweets. The surprise: we got dressed in white robes and put on protection caps. Our guide showed us the rooms where the chocolate was prepared, the processing and packaging conveyors belts. It was warm in there and we could sense the wonderful smell of the melted chocolate.
We were able to observe:
• The manufacturing, maintaining and packaging processes of some of the confection made there;
• That the hygiene rules must be obeyed by everybody who works in the food industry;
• That every employee has a certain job to do, with its own responsibility, so that the sweets we enjoy so much can be perfect. We didn't forget, of course, that they have to be eaten in moderation.
On our way back, we stopped by Timisul de Sus to have some fun in the snow. We know that it is healthy to exercise outside.
