The Visit to the Utility Aviation in Bucharest
25.03.2005
Being that we were up to the lesson on flying - Flight of Fancy - we, the students and the teachers of second grade, thought that a visit to the Bucharest Utility Aviation would be of use to such curious scouts. And so, on a Friday morning we started our trip. What we saw filled us with joy and astonishment: helicopters taking off and landing, 30-year old biplane airplanes that are still functioning today, the workshops where they are repaired, and even a luxury helicopter.
We were guided by two pilots: Ion Dumitrescu and Nicolae Nedelcu. They told us everything we needed to know about these flying machines. We got on board a biplane airplane, and we saw how it is piloted, and what all those buttons are used for. After that, we saw how all the helicopters are repaired, and the mechanics explained all the details to us. Now we know a lot more, and we can tell you all about what we found out there.
We saw top-of-the-line helicopters which are used by the traffic police and by the emergency services. We also got on board of a helicopter used by our country's government officials.
We enjoyed this visit very much because we found out the answers to many of our questions, and we attained all of our goals:
• To study the flight conditions;
• To find out what makes up an airplane or a helicopter;
• To get to know the different kinds of aiplanes and helicopters used by the Bucharest Utility Aviation.
Thank you for this flight!
