An Invitation into the World of Music

MTIS has understood the importance of music in our world, and, consequently, the importance of offering solid musical education to its students. In order to understand music better it is vital to study an instrument. It offers the student a different perspective of music, in general, and even the possibility of discovering his/her passion for this fascinating, complex world of sounds.

The blockflute, in its numerous varieties, is part of a very old family of instruments, that is, the blowing wood instruments. During this optional course, we study the technique of the soprano blockflute. Aside from learning how to play the blockflute, we also learn how to understand music better, how to improve our musical skills in general, and how to play an instrument.

The blockflute is an instrument that is relatively easy to discover and play, being accessible to primary school children. Its complexity relies on the fact that it offers great opportunities to create music and it gives great satisfaction to the interpreter.

During this course, the children learn the elementary notions of the blockflute, starting with the history of the instrument and continuing with the introduction of music writing and of the composition techniques. Consequently, the children will discover the magic of the instrument, of the musical notes, of interpreting many melodies, and they will even be able to compose their own songs.

We're all waiting for you!
