Karate
MTIS has understood and appreciated the important role Karate could play in our lives and has enthusiastically promoted this discipline. That’s why a great number of young karateka enter this wonderful world every year. We are proud of having the largest group of fighters in the whole country.
Our students’ amazing results also extend to the social level far beyond the great number of yellow, orange, green and blue belts and the numerous diplomas, medals and cups. We hope that many other young adults will join the Karate team at Mark Twain International School.
Why Should Children Practice Karate?
Karate addresses all people irrespective of sex, age, religion etc. It has accessible principles that could be approached under different aspects such as: martial arts, phylosophy, way of life, discipline, sports, or all of them at the same time.
Karate helps students integrate socially better and faster, increases their capacity of attention and concentration on everyday problems and eliminates stress.
Owing to its philosophical principles, Karate offers the ideal student-teacher and student-student relationships, based on mutual communication and respect.
When practiced daily with perseverence and sincerity, following the teacher’s instructions, Karate offers a harmonious spiritual and physical development.
When practiced as life-style, Karate helps to know one’s own limits and overcome them by continuous exercise which leads, in time, to self-discovery and self-confidence.
When practiced as a fighting skill, Karate prepares the student for any physical or verbal aggression that could happen in one’s life.
Karate develops the practitioner’s self-respect as well as respect for the others and for human values.
