The Pull-out Language Labs for the intensive study of English and/or Romanian are designed for students in Grades 1 through 10. In this case, language levels are assessed at registration by our faculty and, if deemed necessary, students are signed up for intensive pull-out language training scheduled during the school week, ranging in duration from one term to one school year.
The Language Foundation Year is a year-long intensive languages course, specifically conceived for students who have had no previous instruction whatsoever in English and Romanian. Upon completion of the one-year bilingual course, students are able to resume their regular academic studies. The course is designed for students in Grades 1through 10.
The two types of courses of the Foundation Programme are not intended for students enrolled in the following English language divisions and advanced bilingual divisions of our school:
- the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (Grades 11-12), which requires a high level of proficiency of the English language at the onset of the programme;
- the bilingual Romanian Baccalaureate programme (Grades 11-12) which requires a high level of proficiency of both English and Romanian at the onset of the programme;
- the Early Learning and Pre-Primary Divisons of MTIS, where all English language learning is implicitly achieved through immersion during daily activities.
